PEM Corporate Finance acted as lead advisers to the shareholders on the disposal of the Company to Global Solutions Limited, a leading specialist operator of hospitals, prisons and secure areas for the public sector in the UK, South Africa and Australia. GSL was sold to G4S plc, a FTSE 100 company during the disposal of EMFS.
Essex Medical and Forensic Services is a leading provider of medical forensic and clinical services to the police force. The business was founded in 2004 by Dr Adam Cutts who successfully won contracts to provide medical and forensic services to the police forces in East Anglia (“police surgeon” work).
The business has revolutionised the delivery of such services, providing appropriately qualified medical staff to the front line within an hour of a request. The business employs over 120 nurses and paramedics and 50 doctors and has expanded its services across the country.
PEM Corporate Finance were brought in to advise management after a previous deal had fallen through. We brought new buyers to the table and the final deal done was considerably better in all respects than the initial deal, highlighting the benefit of using experienced advisers to leverage the sale process in order to maximise shareholder returns.
This was a normal sale of 100% of the share capital to a large corporate buyer.
