PEM Corporate Finance LLP (the M&A and valuation division of PEM) is delighted to announce the promotion of two team members and the addition of a new colleague. This marks a significant milestone in what has been an exceptionally busy year for the team. Darren Hagan has been promoted to assistant director (effective from 1 April 2025). Jan Ansari has been promoted to senior analyst, and Asaad Khan has been recruited as assistant manager.

Since joining as manager in 2024, Darren Hagan has made a tremendous impact on the team. He has led several successful advisory and valuation projects, including advising Qmx Laboratories Ltd (Qmx) on its sale to Calibre Scientific. He has also played a key role in initiating multiple business development campaigns, as well as providing support to junior team members.

On his promotion, Darren said:

“I’m excited to step into the role of assistant director and embrace new challenges while driving continued success for the team, and for PEM as a whole. This opportunity allows me to add even greater value to our clients while serving as a positive role model for the junior team members at PEMCF”.

Jan Ansari’s promotion to senior analyst reflects his outstanding contributions and dedication to the team since joining in September 2022 after completing his BSc in Accounting & Finance, and MSc in Investment Management at Swansea University. Jan has provided valuable support in researching and producing valuation reports, developing potential buyer lists, and creating detailed presentations and financial models for our clients. Jan has also successfully passed 10 out of 15 ACA exams (all first-time).

Asaad Khan joins the team as assistant manager and brings vast experience and expertise to the team, strengthening their commitment to delivering an exceptional service to their clients.

Asaad is ACA-qualified, having earned his qualification at Mazars. His background includes senior financial reporting experience at Jaguar Land Rover, where he was responsible for financial analysis and reporting for the company.

In his role at PEM Corporate Finance, Asaad will provide transactional and valuation advisory support to their clients. His understanding of financial processes and his ability to deliver precise and insightful valuations will be invaluable to their team and clients alike.

On joining PEMCF, Asaad Khan said:

I am very excited to be joining PEMCF and making the transition to Cambridge from the Midlands! It has been the perfect time to join with the amount of projects currently ongoing and I’m looking forward to being exposed to the wide variety of clients/industries in due course”.

Philip Olagunju, partner at PEMCF commented on the recent team news:

“I’m very happy with the team’s recent growth and development. Darren has been a superstar since joining me last year. He’s superb with clients, proactive with project management, knowledgeable on the technical aspects of corporate finance, and a great mentor to the more junior members of the team. And Jan has gone from strength to strength, registering first-time passes in his ACA exams thus far,  whilst also providing 1st class support on transactions and valuation projects. Both promotions are thoroughly well-deserved.

I’m also pleased to welcome Asaad to PEMCF, who comes with excellent industry and practice experience, underpinned by a desire to develop and contribute from an advisory perspective.

My ambition for PEMCF remains clear;  continue growing to become the leading corporate finance advisory team on patch. That ambition will only be realised with top quality people, and in Darren, Jan, Asaad, (plus Joshua, Ellie, and Marvel), we’re well on our way. With a record-level of engaged clients / projects, and further staffing announcements to come in the weeks ahead, the future is an exciting one for PEMCF.”
